Claude watermarks in client proposals: preserve the deal
Use a final rewrite on your own Claude-edited proposal while keeping estimates, exclusions and delivery conditions accurate.

I want a proposal to promise exactly the work I intend to deliver. A sentence that sounds more confident can also commit me to something I never priced. That is the main risk I would check when asking AI to polish a proposal.
Founders and consultants have a reasonable use for language help. The scope comes from their work with the client; a model helps explain it. If that model also leaves a text watermark, I understand wanting a final wording pass before sending the document under your own name. The scope still has to survive that pass.
Can Claude mark a proposal based on my own notes?
Yes. Anthropic says output can carry a mark even when the underlying ideas or text came from someone else, including through proofreading or translation. That distinction is in its marking guide.
The longer explanation on this site covers the word-choice signal and its limits. For a proposal, I would separate that question from whether the client knows how the work was prepared. Any agreement about AI assistance still applies after editing.
An estimate can become a commitment
Consider this fictional proposal sentence.
I estimate six weeks for the pilot after access is approved. Data migration is outside this estimate.
Now compare this polished version.
I will deliver the pilot in six weeks, including the data migration.
The number looks right. Almost everything it qualifies has changed. An estimate became a commitment, the start condition disappeared, and excluded work entered the scope. These are illustrative sentences, not measured outputs from the remover.
I would read the original sentence as a set of decisions already made with the client. Editing can make those decisions easier to understand. It should not make new ones on my behalf.
The same problem appears in commercial detail. “Up to” sets a ceiling. “Subject to approval” names a dependency. A proposed start date needs to remain proposed. A fact check that notices only dates and amounts would leave too much of the agreement unchecked.
Why use a full rewrite with a review?
In the reference-key study, the protected single-pass LLM workflow crossed below the threshold in 8/10 fresh responses on the original sources and 10/10 reports in the standard-order control. The original panel credited it with 100 selected claims; the follow-up review qualified that result. The current tool uses a separate multistage Qwen3.6 workflow. These research counts do not measure its success rate on your draft.*
*Those were fictional reports marked with a research key. The experiment did not validate client proposals, legal language or Claude’s and Gemini’s private production detectors. The tool cannot certify removal of their marks or determine whether a proposal is safe to sign.
The remover rewrites the supplied passage and runs a fidelity review against it. Remaining notes are a useful starting point for my own review. They do not establish that the source proposal was correct, or that every commercial consequence has been noticed.
Review the wording against the agreed scope
I would begin with a paragraph whose scope is settled. I would leave exact contract clauses and the price schedule outside a prose rewrite, and keep their approved wording in the document.
After the rewrite, I would compare every promise with the source. Which work is included? What must the client provide before the clock starts? Does an estimate still read as an estimate? I would keep a sentence that sounds less elegant if it expresses the agreement more accurately.
I would also check the boundary between a pilot and a production service. A pilot can test whether an approach is useful without committing the supplier to support it indefinitely. A rewrite must preserve whatever boundary the actual proposal specifies.
Client permission to share material matters before uploading it. This service processes and stores submitted text under its privacy policy. Use a non-confidential passage you are allowed to send to it; keep restricted client material in the approved workspace.
The free watermark remover can help with the final prose pass. Keep the agreed scope beside the result and check every condition before sending the proposal.
